Overall, we were really pleased. They gave us a ballpark of when they would be here and then the person who came out called about a half hour before he actually arrived. He was very nice and very considerate. It was kind of a wet day and we had just had new carpet put in and he was real careful about not walking on the carpet. He cleaned up after himself and did a really good job. We had problems with the original installation. Some of the vent stuff wasn’t exactly the way it should be, so he corrected that. It was 60 degrees in my house when I got home from work that morning. I had had the same problem last winter, and had a technician from another company make several visits to rectify the problem, spending almost 2000.00 in the process. When it happened again, I was REALLY unhappy. So, I called Butler, and they had a technician {Mike} out in less than an hour. Mike managed to identify and fix the problem in less than two hours. It was a structural problem that was causing the furnace not to turn over, and cost less than 200.00 to repair. The other guys wanted to sell me a new furnace. Needless to say, I will be dealing with Butler in the future! This company is tops in my book! It was less than three hours from the initial phone call to the time of departure. Butler Heating and Air Conditioning called me to remind me that my heat pump unit was due for service. (I had kept putting the maintenance off.) They scheduled the apporintment for the next day. Richard arrived a little late, but they had called to inform me that they were backed up due to unforseen issues at a previous customer. He was very professional and accomplished the maintenance check/servicing without issue. I really appreciated Richard taking the time to give me an assessment of the health of my heat pump, and also recommendations on the most efficient way to run the system. This extra time on his part was really appreciated. This is my second dealing with Butler Heating and Air Conditioning, and I have been impressed both times. I also greatly appreciate the $25.00 Angie’s list discount, which I forgot to ask for, but Richard remembered… Greg E., Dayton, OH

I had a safety check of my furnace and it was the best one to date. Richard was very thorough and explained what he was doing and answered all of my questions satisfactorily. Have had another company in the past and they did not check anything basically but did advise i needed a new unit.

Overall it was a positive experience. I requested a quote for new furnace and heat pump and Richard did a thorough work up for my specific needs. He took his time and when he brought the quote explained everything in detail even though I was pressed for time. In an annual inspection with a different company, my furnace was red tagged because of a cracked heat exchanger. Based on the Angie’s list reputation, as well as recommendations from friends and neighbors, I had a third estimate for a furnace and ac replacement from Butler. Despite being after hours, I received a call back within minutes of leaving a voicemail and was able to get my estimate scheduled for the following morning (a Tuesday I believe).

Eddie performed a detailed heat loss calculation and went over all of my options for replacing the old furnace, and I went with a 95% Lennox furnace as well as a 16seer ac unit. The new equipment was installed Friday and Saturday (Less than a week!) Quick and great service. When I need any other service I’ll be calling Butler.

Salesperson, Eddie Bennett, responded to my request for quotation. He was very knowledgeable and helpful and provided me with additional information to help me better understand my options. I had quotes from other suppliers for similar equipment. I chose the Carrier system and the Ream water heater that was proposed by Butler which best suited my needs. They also provided me with an option to purchase a 10 year full parts and labor warranty. This met all my requirements. Butler was the most professional company and worked with me on price and service issues. Other suppliers did not seem to be as flexible and professional to work with. New equipment was installed on August 17. Installation team was extremely qualified and professional. Installation was completed in a day and a half. City inspector passed the installation and commented on the good quality of the installation. Salesperson dropped of a cover for the outside AC unit in the early fall (just one example of the high level of service he provided). Units all run as expected without problems. First energy bills reflect expected cost reductions for the higher efficiency equipment…. Amanda R., Dayton, OH
